IMJ Photography is the brainchild of photographers Monica and Jacob (that’s us!). We are wedding and portrait photographers in Gainesville, FL.
Our studio consists of two lead photographers (that would be us, Monica and Jacob again!) and a great support staff. We have been married for five years and live in Gainesville, FL (Go Gators!). We have been photographing for over 10 years now with over 5 years in specializing in weddings. We also photograph babies, parties, pets, families, and well pretty much everything. We also love to travel and we do photograph about 40% of our weddings in other cities and states! We started off with normal photography jobs like working at a newspaper, doing commercial photography and some real estate photography. While it was fun to work for someone else doing something you love, it’s even more fun to work for yourself!
We have a genuine love for people which is why we love wedding and portrait photography so much. We feel truly blessed to work with and be around so many awesome people. From the initial meeting all the way through the entire process, we forge great relationships with our clients. Our dedication to you is to make wedding photography an enjoyable experience, not something that will just be another item on your wedding day to do list.
Our style is fresh, flirty and fun. What does that mean to you? Well most of all it’s fun. You won’t feel like all you did on your wedding day or in your portrait session was taking a bunch of boring posed pictures. We strive to make each wedding and portrait session unique and fresh and your photographs a little flirty/modern romantic. Even though we may shoot at the same location many times a year, we mix it up each time we photograph so the style or photographs themselves never look stale.
We are members of the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association), the PPA (Professional Photographers Association) and the PPNCF (Professional Photographers of North Central Florida).

We have also photographed weddings and events in Las Vegas, NV, Wilmington DE, and CT. Within Florida we have had the pleasure of photographing at: the Ocala Hilton, the Sand Bar, Golden Ocala Country Club, Harbor Hills Country Club, DeerCreek Country Club, Steinhatchee Landing Resort, Episcopal Church of our Savior, Timuquana Golf and Country Club, Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Pioneer Garden Club, Sea Turtle, Pena Peck House, A1A Aleworks, Mandi’s Chapel (Live Oak/Lake Weed), Lake City Gold and Country Club, First Unitarian Church of Orlando, Winter Park Farmers Market, Club Continental, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of Jacksonville, Dolphin Plaza, Hanna Park, and more. Our favorite out of town places to photograph are: Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando and our most favorite: St. Augustine.
Now onto some useless trivia about us:
-we love NYC…and do you ever notice how the bottle caps of Snapple have great trivia about NYC? Like did you know NYC is the only city to not have a main street? We are SO smart, thanks Snapple!
-we also love all the fall holidays (especially Halloween where every year we do a geeky husband wife costume. This year it’s going to be FIERCE! J).
-we both love animals so we give lots of support to our favorite rescue, Gainesville Pet Rescue. Check them out if you’re looking to give an adorable animal a home.
